The Florida Department of Education’s Healthy Schools Summer Academy is a professional development opportunity for teachers and administrators of health education and physical education content with special emphasis on other subject area courses with integrated health education benchmarks. This annual event will next take place June 10-11, 2020 at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland.
Health education and physical education are required instruction for grades K-12. Academy sessions will include information and resources focusing on Florida standards, the State Board of Education Rules approved in 2019 related to Health Education (Mental and Emotional Health Education, Substance Use and Abuse, Child Trafficking Prevention Education) and the Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS). Teachers of all subject areas are encouraged to attend.
The Academy will accommodate up to 325 participants on a first-come, first-serve basis. The registration cost of the academy is $60 per attendee.

The Academy will provide a boxed lunch for all attendees on Wednesday, June 10 and Thursday, June 11. If you have dietary restrictions, food allergies or other concerns, please indicate so on your registration form.
